Ingredients

  • 2 cod fillets (about 6 oz / 170 g each), fresh or fully thawed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or dill, for garnish (optional)

Equipment

  • Paper towels
  • 1 Small bowl (for seasoning)
  • 1 Silicone brush or oil spray bottle
  • Tongs or spatula

Method

  1. Prepare the cod
Pat the cod fillets dry thoroughly with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Season
In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Brush the mixture evenly over both sides of the cod fillets.
  3. Preheat the air fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Cook
Place the cod fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them.Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, depending on thickness. Flipping is optional and not required for most air fryers.
  5. Check doneness
Cod is done when it flakes easily with a fork and appears opaque throughout. Internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
  6. Rest & serve
Let the cod rest for 1 minute. Serve with lemon wedges and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
