Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey (85–93% lean recommended)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for extra moisture)
  • 1 large egg (optional binder)
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices cheese
  • lettuce, tomato, onion

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine:
Ground turkey, Olive oil, Garlic powder, Onion powder, Paprika, Salt, Black pepper, Breadcrumbs (if using), Egg (if using)
Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix, as this can make the burgers dense instead of tender.
If making without breadcrumbs, add an extra teaspoon of olive oil to help maintain moisture.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions.
Form each into a patty about ¾ inch thick.
Press a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing and ensure even cooking.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 375°F for 3 to 5 minutes.
Lightly spray the basket with oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Place patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Cook at 375°F for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Flip halfway through cooking.
Cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F using a digital thermometer.
  5. If adding cheese, place a slice on each burger during the last 1 to 2 minutes of cooking.
  6. Remove burgers from the air fryer and let rest for 3 to 5 minutes before serving.
    This helps retain juices.

Notes

  • Use 85 to 93% lean turkey for best juiciness.
  • Avoid cooking at 400°F unless patties are thick.
  • Always rely on internal temperature rather than time alone.
  • Letting burgers rest prevents dryness.
