Ingredients
  

  • 500g flank steak (or skirt steak) (For the Carne Asada)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large bag frozen fries (about 700 to 800g) (For the Fries)
  • 2 tbsp oil (if baking)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend) (For the Toppings)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1/2 cup pico de gallo
  • 1 to 2 jalapeños, sliced (optional)

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, lime juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Coat the flank steak evenly with the marinade.
    Let it rest for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for best flavor).
  3. Bake or air fry fries according to package instructions until crispy and golden.
    Season lightly with salt.
  4. Heat a skillet or grill pan over high heat.
    Cook steak for 3 to 5 minutes per side until nicely seared.
  5. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
  6. Spread fries on a serving tray.
    Sprinkle shredded cheese and let it melt.
    Add sliced steak on top.
    Add guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, and jalapeños.
