Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken legs (drumsticks)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Method

  1. Prepare the chicken
Pat the chicken legs completely dry using paper towels. This step helps the skin crisp during cooking.
  2. Season
Place the chicken legs in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder over the chicken and mix well.
  3. Preheat the air fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) if your model requires it.
  4. Arrange in the basket
Place the chicken legs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each piece for proper air circulation.
  5. Cook
Air fry for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping the chicken legs halfway through cooking.
  6. Check doneness
Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) at the thickest part.
  7. Rest and serve
Let the chicken rest for 2 to 3 minutes before serving to keep the meat juicy.

Notes

  • Cooking time may vary slightly depending on the size of the chicken legs and air fryer model.
  • Avoid overcrowding the basket for best results.
  • Minimal oil is enough, too much can prevent crisping.

Storage & Reheating
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 4 to 6 minutes until warmed through and crispy.
