Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 8 to 10 pickle slices
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise or sandwich sauce
  • Cheese slices (Optional)
  • Onion slices (Optional)
  • Spicy mayo or garlic sauce (Optional)

Equipment

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and paprika.
Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions.
Shape each portion into a round patty slightly larger than the burger bun since the patties will shrink slightly while cooking.
  3. Heat cooking oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Place the chicken patties in the skillet and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked.
Remove the patties from the pan and let them rest for 1 minute.
  4. Lightly toast the burger buns in a skillet or toaster until warm and slightly crispy.
  5. Spread mayonnaise or sauce on the bottom bun.
Add lettuce leaves and tomato slices.
Place the cooked chicken patty on top.
Add pickle slices and any additional toppings you prefer.
Close the sandwich with the top bun and serve immediately.
