Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  5. Scoop small portions of dough and roll into balls. Place them on a lined baking tray, leaving space between each.
  6. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are set.
  7. Transfer biscuits to a cooling rack and let them cool completely to set the texture.

Notes
