- Place the long grain white rice in a fine mesh strainer and rinse under cold water for about 30 seconds.Rinsing removes excess starch and helps produce fluffy grains.
- Transfer the rinsed rice to the Instant Pot inner pot.Add:1 cup water¼ teaspoon salt (optional)1 teaspoon butter or oil (optional)
- Close the Instant Pot lid and set the valve to Sealing.Select High Pressure and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
- When cooking is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes.This helps the rice finish steaming and improves texture.
- Open the lid carefully and fluff the rice using a fork or rice paddle.Serve warm as a side dish or base for your favorite meals.
