Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional)
  • 1 tsp butter or olive oil (optional)

Method

  1. Place the long grain white rice in a fine mesh strainer and rinse under cold water for about 30 seconds.Rinsing removes excess starch and helps produce fluffy grains.
  2. Transfer the rinsed rice to the Instant Pot inner pot.
    Add:
    1 cup water
    ¼ teaspoon salt (optional)
1 teaspoon butter or oil (optional)
  3. Close the Instant Pot lid and set the valve to Sealing.
Select High Pressure and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. When cooking is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes.
This helps the rice finish steaming and improves texture.
  5. Open the lid carefully and fluff the rice using a fork or rice paddle.
Serve warm as a side dish or base for your favorite meals.
